In Oral Medicine department at Rawal Dental Hospital (RDH) initial oral diagnosis is carried out and the patient is referred to respective departments for further treatment. We believe that “prevention is better than cure”.

The students are required to have a comprehensive understanding of oro-facial diseases and oral manifestations of systemic diseases, and management of oral lesions in immunocompromised patients and accordingly the investigations required and their non-surgical treatment. They are also required to have knowledge of medical emergencies and their management.
The discipline of dentistry at Rawal Dental Hospital deals with the significance and relationship of oral and systemic disease. It involves diagnosing, treating, or preventing disease and other damage to the oral cavity. It encompasses treatment by drugs, diet, exercise, and other non-surgical means to treat oral diseases or injuries.
The department of Oral medicine and Oral Diagnosis provide the OPD services for referral to specific dental departments for further evaluation and management.
