The Anesthesia Department at Rawal General Hospital is headed by Maj. Gen. Dr. S.M. Shahab Naqvi (R) who is a Professor of Anesthesiology and an expert in critical care and anesthesia. The Anesthesia department is assisting all general surgeries undertaken by the general surgery & allied departments. The department also facilitates complex surgeries conducted by various specialities including neurosurgery, othopedic, cardiac, pediatric and head and neck.

Daily ward round is conducted by consultant along with post graduate FCPS trainees and house officers. The post graduate trainees are also available 24 hours for patient care and student guidance. The Anesthesia Department is recognized by CPSP for FCPS-II training. Several trainees have completed their requirement and have successfully cleared the intermediate module of FCPS.
